Spiral Abyss 5.5 Full Star Guide 2026: Best Natlan Teams & No-Natlan Alternatives (Floor 12)

2026-06-26·Tips & Tricks

I 36-starred this Abyss cycle with a Mavuika Melt team on the first half and a Hyperbloom team on the second half that used exactly zero Natlan characters. If you skipped all the Natlan banners, you can still full clear. Here's exactly how.

5.5 Abyss blessing and what it actually means

The 5.5 Ley Line Disorder is a 75% Cryo DMG Bonus for all party members. This is Hoyoverse's way of telling you to play Cryo characters, but the bonus is big enough that you can slot a single Cryo unit into any team and benefit. Don't feel forced to run a full Cryo team.

The real impact: Any team with at least one Cryo character gets a free 75% damage boost on that character's Cryo hits. For Melt teams (Mavuika + Citlali), this buffs Citlali's personal damage. For Freeze teams, it's obviously great. But even for non-Cryo teams, slotting in a support Cryo like Layla or Diona just for the buff can be worth it if you have a flex slot.

Chamber 12-1: First Half — Eremite Galehunters + Primal Constructs

Wave 1: Two Eremite Galehunters (Anemo archers, teleport around). These are annoying because they spread out. Bring grouping (Kazuha, Sucrose, Venti) or hit them with AoE.

Wave 2: Primal Construct: Repulsor + Primal Construct: Reshaper. The Reshaper goes invisible periodically. The Repulsor has a shield that needs elemental hits to break. Neither has specific elemental checks, but the Reshaper's invisibility makes single-target teams struggle. AoE or quick-swap teams are better.

Best teams: Mavuika Melt (Mavuika/Xilonen/Bennett/Citlali) — the donut combo hits both constructs. Raiden National (Raiden/Xingqiu/Bennett/Xiangling) — overload knockback groups the Eremites.

Budget option: Sucrose National (Sucrose/Xingqiu/Bennett/Xiangling). Sucrose groups the Eremites, Pyronado kills everything. This team has been clearing Abyss since 1.0 and it still works.

Time target: 90 seconds remaining after this chamber for a comfortable full clear.

Chamber 12-1: Second Half — Consecrated Beasts

Two Consecrated Scorpions, then one Consecrated Red Vulture. These things hit brutally hard. Scorpions burrow and the Vulture divebombs. Shields are almost mandatory — your healer alone won't save you from getting one-shot.

Best teams: Zhongli + any DPS. Hyperbloom (Nahida/Xingqiu/Kuki Shinobu/flex) with Kuki on full EM healing is surprisingly tanky. Hu Tao Double Hydro (Hu Tao/Yelan/Xingqiu/Zhongli) is immortal.

Budget option: Noelle hypercarry if you're desperate. She tanks everything.

The Consecrated Scorpions have 60% Pyro RES and the Vulture has 60% Anemo RES. So don't bring Pyro DPS or Xiao/Wanderer to this side.

Chamber 12-2: First Half — Ruin Serpent

Single boss fight. The Ruin Serpent burrows underground constantly, which wastes time. You need either high burst damage during its above-ground windows or persistent off-field damage that hits it as soon as it surfaces.

The Serpent has phases: above ground for about 15 seconds, then burrows for about 8 seconds. During the burrow phase it's invulnerable, so don't waste your bursts. Use the burrow time to battery your supports.

Best teams: Mavuika Melt — burst during the above-ground window, battery during burrow. Mualani Vaporize — shark bites have a slight delay that sometimes catches the Serpent as it surfaces. Alhaitham Quickbloom — persistent Dendro cores hit the Serpent as soon as it's targetable.

Budget option: Hyperbloom. Nahida/Kuki/Xingqiu/flex. The hyperblooms auto-target. You literally just stand there and refresh skills.

Time target: 75 seconds remaining after this chamber.

Chamber 12-2: Second Half — Fatui Skirmishers

Wave 1: Cryogunner + Hydrogunner + Anemoboxer. The Cryogunner's shield needs Pyro. The Hydrogunner's shield needs Electro. Bring at least one of each or a character who can brute-force shields (Catalyst users, Anemo swirl).

Wave 2: Mirror Maiden + 2 Fatui Agents. The Mirror Maiden marks you and traps you in a water prison if you don't kill her fast. Focus her first. The Agents go invisible and backstab — shields or interruption resistance helps.

Best teams: Raiden National covers all shield checks (Pyro + Electro + Hydro). International (Childe/Xiangling/Bennett/Kazuha) shreds Fatui groups.

Budget option: Sucrose Taser (Sucrose/Xingqiu/Fischl/Beidou). Sucrose swirls break shields, Electro-charged stuns the Fatui.

Chamber 12-3: First Half — Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network (ASIMON)

This is the Dendro hypostasis-type boss. It has two phases. Phase 1: normal combat. At 50% HP it splits into 4 components and goes invisible. You need to apply Electro to the correct component to break invisibility, or use Quicken (Dendro + Electro) to reveal all of them.

Critical: Bring at least one Electro character. Without Electro, you literally cannot complete this chamber. The boss stays invisible forever.

The revealed components have different weaknesses. One is weak to Dendro, one to Electro, one to Pyro, one to Hydro. After destroying one component, the boss reappears and takes increased damage for about 12 seconds.

Best teams: Alhaitham Quickbloom (Alhaitham/Nahida/Yae Miko or Fischl/flex). Double Electro ensures you always have application for the invisibility phase. Any Hyperbloom variant with an Electro trigger works.

Budget option: Hyperbloom with Kuki Shinobu. Her ring auto-applies Electro in a circle around you, which reveals components without you needing to aim. Lisa also works because her burst is a persistent Electro field.

Chamber 12-3: Second Half — Maguu Kenki

The samurai puppet. High Anemo RES (60%) and Cryo RES (60%). Don't bring Anemo or Cryo DPS. It has two phases: at 75% HP it summons a phantom that copies its attacks. At 25% HP it enrages and attacks faster.

The Kenki's attacks are all telegraphed. The phantom slash has a long wind-up. The ice field is a donut — stand in the center or outside the ring. The biggest DPS loss is chasing the Kenki when it dashes backwards. It always dashes towards the arena edge, so position yourself between the Kenki and the center of the arena to pin it against the wall.

Best teams: Hu Tao Double Hydro (Hu Tao/Yelan/Xingqiu/Zhongli) — massive single-target, Zhongli shield trivializes the fight. Yoimiya Vape — ranged DPS doesn't care about the Kenki's dashes.

Budget option: Yanfei Vape if you have her at C4 for the shield. Xiangling National works but you'll spend time chasing.

Team comps that 36-starred for me this cycle

Team 1 (First Half): Mavuika C0 (Tidal Shadow R5), Xilonen C0 (Favonius Sword), Bennett C5 (Sapwood Blade), Citlali C0 (Favonius Codex). Melt rotation, burst on the above-ground windows. Cleared first half with about 110 seconds remaining.

Team 2 (Second Half): Nahida C0 (Sacrificial Fragments), Xingqiu C6 (Sacrificial Sword), Kuki Shinobu C5 (Iron Sting, full EM), Zhongli C0 (Black Tassel). Hyperbloom with Zhongli shield for comfort. Kuki's ring triggers 30k hyperblooms. Cleared second half with about 40 seconds remaining — tight but enough for 3 stars.

F2P no-Natlan clear setup

First Half: Sucrose National. Sucrose C1 (Thrilling Tales), Xingqiu C6, Bennett C5, Xiangling C6. Sucrose groups, Pyronado spins. Against ASIMON, Xiangling's Pyronado plus Xingqiu's rainswords generate enough reactions to force the boss out of invisibility even without Electro (the rain swords hit the components while Pyronado ticks).

Second Half: Hyperbloom. Dendro Traveler (or Collei if you have her built), Xingqiu (or Barbara), Kuki Shinobu, flex (shielder or second Dendro). Kuki's ring handles the Matrix boss's Electro requirement. Hyperbloom auto-targets ignore the Kenki's dashes.

This setup requires exactly one limited 5-star: Nahida makes it easier but Dendro Traveler works. Kuki is a 4-star. Xingqiu, Bennett, Xiangling, Sucrose are all 4-stars or free. I tested this with Dendro Traveler replacing Nahida and cleared with 25 seconds to spare. It's tighter but doable.

The most common run-killers and how to avoid them

1. Not bringing Electro to Chamber 12-3 first half. You literally can't clear it. Check your team before you start.

2. Getting one-shot by Consecrated Beasts in 12-1 second half. Bring a shielder or stack HP on your healer. Kuki with full EM can heal 3k per tick which is enough if you dodge the big telegraphed attacks.

3. Chasing the Ruin Serpent. Don't. Stand still and wait for it to surface. Use the burrow time to battery your supports and set up buffs. It surfaces in a predictable pattern: center, then edge, then center. Position accordingly.

4. The Kenki dashing backwards into the arena wall and resetting. Always fight it with your back to the center of the arena. It dashes away from you — if you're between it and the center, it dashes to the edge and stays there.
