Natlan Daily Resin & Commission Optimization Guide 2026: The 15-Minute Routine That Actually Works
I timed my daily Genshin routine for a month. Average: 22 minutes. After optimizing: 11 minutes. Same rewards. Here's the exact 15-minute Natlan daily routine that maximizes resin efficiency and minimizes wasted time.
The 15-minute daily checklist
1. Login, claim expedition rewards (30 seconds). Send expeditions out again. Use the 20-hour expeditions in Natlan for Meat and Sweet Flowers — both are used in Natlan-specific recipes. The 15-hour expeditions in Mondstadt for Mora are still worth it if your characters aren't friendship-maxed yet.
2. Condense resin at the crafting bench (15 seconds). Always condense. Condensed resin gives double drops from domains and ley lines. The only reason to use original resin is for world bosses, which don't accept condensed resin.
3. Complete 4 daily commissions (5-7 minutes). See the Natlan commission routing section below.
4. Spend resin on the day's priority target (4-8 minutes). See resin priority section.
5. Talk to Katheryne for commission rewards + expedition pickups (30 seconds).
6. Craft, cook, forge if needed (1 minute).
Total: 11 to 17 minutes depending on the day's resin target.
Resin priority order — what to spend on first
Tier 1 (do this week): Weekly bosses. Three per week at 30 resin each (first three are half-cost). Prioritize the weekly boss whose talent materials your main DPS needs. For most Natlan players in 2026, that's the Gluttonous Yumkasaur Tyrant (Mavuika talents) or the Secret Source Automaton (Xilonen talents). If you're not building anyone who needs weekly boss mats, do the three that give the most billets.
Tier 2 (do this daily until done): Ascension bosses. You need 46 boss drops to ascend a character from level 1 to 90. At an average of 2.5 drops per 40-resin run, that's about 19 runs or 760 resin total per character. Focus on one character at a time. Mavuika first (if you pulled her), then your main sub-DPS, then supports.
Tier 3 (do this daily after boss completion): Talent domains. Getting talents to level 9 for your main three characters takes roughly 1,200 to 1,800 resin per character. Prioritize your main DPS's primary damage talent (Mavuika skill, Mualani skill, Kinich skill) to level 9 first. Then their burst to 8. Then supports to relevant talent levels. Do NOT level normal attacks on characters who don't use them. Mavuika's normal attacks at level 9 contribute approximately 4% of her total damage. Skip them entirely.
Tier 4 (fill days after talents): Artifact domains. See the artifact section below.
Tier 5 (only when desperate): Mora ley lines. Each condensed resin run gives 120,000 Mora at WL8. You'll need about 7 million Mora to max one character (level + talents + weapon). That's roughly 58 condensed resin runs per character. Mora is the silent killer. Don't sleep on it.
Tier 6 (only with overflow resin): XP ley lines. Do not farm XP ley lines until every other priority is done. Events and quests give enough XP books for 3-4 characters to level 90.
Daily commission routing in Natlan
Natlan commissions are clustered around the tribe settlements. Here's the fastest route:
Teleport to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame waypoint. Run toward the Children of Echoes territory (west). Commissions in this zone are almost always "defeat enemies" or "destroy hilichurl towers" within 200 meters of each other. Clear them in 90 seconds.
Second commission: Teleport to the Scions of the Canopy waypoint (Huitztlan). Two quick commissions spawn here — one is always a time trial gliding challenge along the floating islands, the other is a simple combat encounter. The gliding challenge takes 60 seconds and you cannot fail it (the timer is extremely generous).
Third commission: Teleport to the People of the Springs waypoint (Meztli). Most commissions here involve Koholasaurus swimming segments. Indwell the Koholasaurus near the waypoint, swim through the underwater tunnel, surface at the commission waypoint. 90 seconds.
Fourth: Teleport to the Flower-Feather Clan (Tlalocan). Qucusaurus flight commissions appear here. Indwell, fly through 3 to 5 rings, done. 45 seconds.
Skip any commission that sends you to the underground lava caverns beneath Nanatzcayan. The navigation takes longer than the commission itself. Instead, use encounter points — every event, quest, and exploration objective gives encounter points that count toward daily commission completion. If you've been exploring Natlan, you've probably accumulated hundreds of encounter points. Open the Adventurer Handbook and claim them instead of doing bad commissions.
Which domains to farm (and which to skip)
The Obsidian Codex / Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City domain ("Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits") is the single most resin-efficient domain in the game right now. Both artifact sets are BiS (best in slot) for multiple characters. Obsidian Codex: Mavuika, Kinich, Chasca, any Natlan DPS. Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City: Xilonen, Kachina, Citlali, any Natlan support. Even off-region characters can use 2-piece Scroll for the 20% HP bonus.
Farm this domain for a month. Do not touch any other artifact domain during this time. Characters who need other sets (Emblem, Deepwood, etc.) can use strongbox.
The Natlan talent domain rotates between "Contention" (Tuesday/Friday) for Mavuika, Kinich, Mualani, and Citlali talent books, and "Kindling" (Wednesday/Saturday) for Xilonen, Chasca, and Ororon talent books. Plan your talent farming days around who you're building.
Skip the Natlan weapon ascension domain if you're using craftable or event weapons. Natlan craftable weapons use different ascension materials from the gacha weapons. Flute of Ezpitzal and Ring of Yaxche use materials from Mondstadt and Liyue domains, not Natlan domains.
The encounter point system (skip commissions entirely)
Since Version 4.1, you can claim daily commission rewards by spending "encounter points" earned from exploration, quests, and events. One encounter point = one commission reward. You can bank encounter points indefinitely.
If you explore aggressively when new areas drop, you'll accumulate enough encounter points to skip commissions for weeks. Open the Adventurer Handbook → Commissions tab → Claim Rewards. The encounter points are automatically consumed. You still need to talk to Katheryne to get the final 20 Primogems and the "complete 4 commissions" battle pass credit, but you don't need to do any actual commissions.
This is the single biggest time save in Genshin's daily loop and the game doesn't advertise it well. Most players I talk to don't know encounter points exist.
Battle Pass optimization
The paid battle pass is the only "spending" that's genuinely worth it for low spenders. $10 for the equivalent of roughly 2,800 Primogems in pulls (Intertwined Fates + Acquaint Fates), plus 4.3 million Mora, 40 XP books, and a battle pass weapon that's competitive with R1 5-star options. Welkin is $5 for 3,000 Primogems over 30 days. Combined: $15/month for ~6,000 Primogems effective value.
For battle pass weekly missions: don't grind them. Most complete naturally through the daily routine. The "spend 1,200 resin" mission completes in 2-3 days of normal play. The "complete 20 ley lines" mission takes careful planning if you're not actively farming them — do 4 ley lines per day for 5 days. Don't claim the blossom rewards (just kill the enemies and leave) if you don't need the Mora/XP.
Cooking and crafting efficiency
Cook in batches of 20 using the automatic cooking feature (unlocks after manual perfect cooking 20 times). The Natlan-specific recipes (Grainfruit Chips, Chocolate, Saurus Crackers) are all 4-star revival foods that heal extra HP, but they use region-locked ingredients. Grainfruit only grows in the Chamber of Echoes territory. Set your expeditions to farm these ingredients rather than picking them manually.
The Parametric Transformer (gadget from Liyue world quest) should be fed 150 worthless materials weekly. Berries, Mint, and Sweet Flowers are ideal. The Transformer gives talent books, weapon ascension materials, and Mora. It's not a lot — roughly 10 resin worth of materials — but it's literally free. Drop it in front of Katheryne so you don't forget to use it when claiming commissions.
What to skip entirely
Teapot min-maxing. The realm currency and friendship XP are nice but the time-to-reward ratio is terrible. Visit once a week, collect realm currency, buy the Transient Resin and the artifact XP bottles, leave. 2 minutes.
Fishing. The Catch R5 was worth it in Inazuma. The Natlan fishing rewards are not. The Natlan fishing weapon ("Wavebreaker's Fin") is a polearm with HP% substat that's outclassed by Black Tassel R5 (a 3-star gacha weapon) for shieldbot Thoma and Candace. Skip.
Daily artifact investigation routes. Some players spend 20 minutes running a circuit of investigation spots for free artifact XP. At 40-60 artifact XP per spot and roughly 30 spots per route, that's about 1,500 artifact XP per day. One 20-resin domain run gives roughly 10,000 artifact XP when you fodder the bad pieces. You earn more artifact XP in 90 seconds of domain farming than 20 minutes of investigation routing. Skip.
Reputation quests after you've maxed each tribe. The weekly reputation quest gives Mora and tribe XP. Once the tribe is maxed, the XP is wasted and the Mora isn't worth the time. Do reputation quests for active tribes only.
The 2-minute logout routine
Some days you don't have 15 minutes. Here's the absolute minimum: login, condense resin at the nearest crafting bench (Mondstadt's is fastest — teleport, run 3 steps, craft), spend all condensed resin on one domain, claim encounter points for daily commissions, talk to Katheryne, logout. 2 minutes, 160 resin spent, commissions done, rewards collected. This is what my Genshin routine looks like 4 days out of 7.
